TCS planned to hire 30,000 people in 2010-11:

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Wednesday announced to hire a total of 30,000 people in the next fiscal starting April 1, 2010.

TCS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director N, Chandrasekaran told, We are looking at a gross addition of 30,000 in fiscal 2011. About 70 per cent will be freshers and 30 per cent will be experienced professionals.

During the October-December quarter, TCS had a gross addition of 12,854 employees. Its total headcount across 42 countries stood at about 1,49,000, as of December 31, 2009.

The IT major said it would preserve its usual ratio between overseas and Indian recruitments while hiring.
The IT sector situation was getting better with every passing month, N.Chandrasekaran said.
